Quick Start:

The Right Side Switch on the Game Enhancer is in the:
Down Position: Game Enhancer OFF (Boots up original Sony PlayStation games {i.e. "black bottom" disc games} without the "Black and White" Sony PlayStation introduction screens. - Faster bootups)

Up Position: Game Enhancer ON (On-Screen controls for every feature of the Game Enhancer, as well as the ability to play copies/imports). Keep in mind that the Game Enhancer's On-Screen controls will not work with copied games unless you load the country code from an original "black bottom" PlayStation disc first. [Click here to find out how by going to the "Methods" page]

General Key Configuration:
O = Select (or Forward)
X = Cancel (or Back)
Triangle = Delete
Square = Used to edit codes (usually backspace)

READ CAREFULLY! - Switching from NTSC to PAL:

DO NOT SWITCH FROM NTSC TO PAL UNLESS YOU HAVE A PAL TV AND A PAL PLAYSTATION!!! If you switch from NTSC TO PAL you might damage your game enhancer to the point where (there is a good chance) you might never be able to switch it back to NTSC and therefore not be able to use it ever again. I absolutely refuse to replace any game enhancer that has been switched to PAL mode accidentally! If you live in North or South America, you do NOT want to switch from NTSC to PAL for ANY reason!!! Switching from NTSC to PAL does NOT add any new features or improve the quality of the game enhancer's capabilities. It basically changes the screen resolution to a format which CANNOT be viewed by North or South American televisions. Just to let you know: PAL PlayStation games have the same resolution as NTSC PlayStation games anyway, so even if you could get away with switching your game enhancer to PAL (which you cannot do by the way) it wouldn't be worth the effort. If you live in North or South America, YOU DO NOT HAVE A PAL TV!!! Only if you have a PAL TV and PAL PlayStation and live OUTSIDE of North or South America do you want to do the following:
- Press L1, SELECT AND then press "O"
to switch to PAL mode.

Normal Bootup:

Game Enhancer right side switch in the down position - This starts original Sony PlayStation games ("black bottom" disc games) with no codes, just like the PlayStation would if the Game Enhancer was not in the system, except it also bypasses the "black and white" Sony PlayStation introduction screens for faster bootups.

Game Enhancer Bootup:

Game Enhancer right side switch in the up position - This can be used to boot copies and imports [Click here to find out how by going to the Methods page], as well as the use all of the Game Enhancer's features with On-Screen controls. Keep in mind that the Game Enhancer's On-Screen controls will not work with copied games unless you load the country code from an original "black bottom" PlayStation disc first. Visit:
https://sadbuttru.tripod.com/4.htm
to find out how.

Game Enhancer On-Screen Controls:

(Keep in mind that "X" generally always goes back to a previous step/menu and that "O" generally always goes forward to the next step/menu or "accepts").

START GAME @ MOD PLAY ! :

Starts the game normally, or can be used to start a copied/import game. Visit:
https://sadbuttru.tripod.com/4.htm
to find out how.

START GAME WITH CHEATS :

This will load the game using the codes you have selected in the "SELECT CHEATS" menu which will be described later on in this user guide. The currently selected cheat title appears at the bottom of the screen in a box. If the message "Plug-Mod CD-R Function Inside!!" is written in the box, then no cheat codes have been selected yet, your game will still run fine if you press "O" on either "START GAME @ MOD PLAY !" or "START GAME WITH CHEATS". This option can also be used to use cheat codes with a copied/import game.

SELECT CHEATS :

This takes you to a list of all the codes that are in the Game Enhancer's memory that can be EDITED (added to, removed, etc.) If there are games listed in this section and you wish to use cheat codes from one of them in a game, move up and down on your controller to highlight a game of your choice and press the "O" button. This will bring you to a list of codes for that game. Move up and down to highlight a code, press the "O" button to select (or unselect) a code. The "+" symbol will show up on both sides of the code to let you know which codes are active. You can use more than one code in a game at a time. Press "square" on the code description to view the code's actual body. After the desired codes are selected, press "X" five times to go back to the main menu and chose either "START GAME @ MOD PLAY !" to start the game without the selected codes, or "START GAME WITH CHEATS" to start the game using the cheats you have enabled. Keep in mind that the right side switch on the Game Enhancer toggles whether the code effects are ON (switch in the UP position) or OFF (switch is in the DOWN position) during game play.

Code Resources Online
You can obtain cheat codes for new games by visiting such websites as:
http://www.cmgsccc.com/psx/
http://www.datel.co.uk/
http://gameshark.com/
There are also many other sources that can be found on the internet or in magazines to find codes. Remember, the Game Enhancer is compatible with Game Shark, Pro Action Replay, and Gamebuster codes.

Adding a Code:

First go into "SELECT CHEATS" and go to "New Game Record" and Press "O". Then go through the following steps:

X: Accepts code, following this, X: goes back to the previous option, prompting you to save changes. From there, O: on "OK" accepts and saves the changes.

Enter the Game's Master Code (if necessary):
Some games require a master code for a Game Enhancer to be able to use codes with that game. Most games don't. To enter a Master Code (if necessary), press "O" on "Master Code" and
then use the following buttons to enter/manipulate the code:
Keys:
O: Adds Character

O: Adds character
Square: Deletes character
L1/R1: Changes format of character
X:  Accepts code, following this, X: goes back to the previous option, prompting you to save changes. From there, O: on "OK" accepts and saves the changes.

Entering the Actual Code:

Keys:
O: Adds Character
L1/R1: Moves cursor left / right
L2/R2: Next character / Previous character
X:  Accepts code, following this, X: goes back to the previous option, prompting you to save changes. From there, O: on "OK" accepts and saves the changes.

Default Option:
Finally, after confirming all the codes you have just entered (with one press of the "X" after each line of code) if you press down one more time, you will highlight the "Default:ON" option. Pressing "O" on this will toggle whether the code is defaulted to ON or OFF the next time you select the game from the "SELECT CHEATS" menu.

To Use the Code You Have Just Entered:

Follow these steps:
Press "X" five times (or until you reach the main menu) and then press "O" on "SELECT CHEATS". If there are games listed in this section and you wish to use cheat codes from one of them in a game, move up and down on your controller to highlight a game of your choice and press the "O" button. This will bring you to a list of codes for that game. Move up and down to highlight a code, press the "O" button to select (or unselect) a code. The "+" symbol will show up on both sides of the code to let you know which codes are active. You can use more than one code in a game at a time. After the desired codes are selected, Press "X" five times (or until you reach the main menu) and chose either "START GAME @ MOD PLAY !" to start the game without the selected codes, or "START GAME WITH CHEATS" to start the game using the cheats you have enabled. Keep in mind that the right side switch on the Game Enhancer toggles whether the code effects are ON (switch in the UP position) or OFF (switch is in the DOWN position) during game play.

Deleting a Code:

In the "SELECT CHEATS" menu, highlight any code you wish to delete and then press the "triangle" button, it will then ask you "Delect code, are you sure?" (P.S. Yes, I am aware of the spelling they use to spell delete :) then hit "O" on "OK" to confirm the delete.

MEMORY MANAGER :

This section works essentially the same way the PlayStation's built-in Memory Card Manager works, but is faster and easier to navigate.
1.COPY - Copy a single block
2.COPY ALL - Copy the entire memory card
